Do not love a poet

Do not love a poet
She knows her letters and syllables
She seeks your heart and your soul
She’ll touch where you’re most vulnerable

Do not love a poet
Her eyes can also speak words
More than the words, she sees your world
She’ll write you a price you can’t afford

Do not love a poet
She’ll do anything to make you stay
She’ll build you a home and lock you away
She’ll love you so much, you’d feel it everyday

Do not love a poet
If your heart does not skip a beat
If you don’t love her coldness against the burning heat
If you’re just up for some quick sweet treat

Do not love a poet
If you’re just going to break her heart
For she’ll write you long verses
Until you realized without her
Your world had fallen apart
