Goodbye to his Selfish Heart

He used to be mine

When loving him back was a crime

Stacks of promises out in the dust

I’m left to pick down all the crumbs

I used to be mine

When loving me was the only thing on my mind

Gilded with golden dreams turned to rust

All that’s left were embers of the past

He is him now

Braving the world with his selfish heart

Navigating the storm only he knows how

Leaving a trail of wounds he tore apart

I am back to me now

Swimming through the sorrow with a smile

Manifesting my heavy heart amidst the busy crowd

Burying goodbyes to finally say hi

Once more

To another soul who will sail

The turbulent waters with me

Blood is flowing coffee. Hiking mountains to constantly remind myself that my worries are smaller compared to the vast wonders waiting at me on every summit. Killing non playable characters in video games for fun. Holding daily funeral services in my head.
