He Who Never Left

When the misery came in the form of rugged terrain, You were the one who taught me how to conquer them no matter how challenging they were. You were the one who taught me to swim no matter how hard it was when the pain is as deep as the sea.

When the torture felt like a roller-coaster ride, You were the one who taught me to keep breathing, no matter how queasy it was. You were the one who taught me to bravely face the storm, stay calm, and remain in control no matter how scary it was when I felt uncomfortable.

When anxiety was like taking a drug, You were the one who told me to stop taking it because it wouldn’t benefit me and would just cause me to die. You were in the room when everyone left. You were there while everybody was judging me. You were the one making the most perfect dress for a common and weird girl like me when everyone else left me totally naked. You were still there for me when I lost. You never abandoned me.

They say, “Existence is a Ferris wheel. Often you’re on top, and other times you’re on the floor.”

When you’re loaded, you explode; when you’re short on fuel, you can’t keep driving.

Life can be a risky game and we’re all participants but what matters is that, no matter how terrible life becomes, we have Him, the Supreme Father, He who reigns over everyone, He who formed us, He who never failed us.

“It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” – Deuteronomy 31:8, ESV
