If only you have waited.

I thought letting you wait would be just fine. For saying “YES” when I’m not yet ready would only make it unfair on both sides. I thought letting you wait would make you see that I am not that easy and that I am someone “worth the wait”.

I thought letting you wait would let you assess how real your feelings are and that you are not just infatuated due to our closeness. I thought you would see that waiting is also a way of showing love.

You told me to take my time and that affirmed me your willingness to wait. I was wrong. Things suddenly changed. You suddenly changed.

If only you have waited for a little bit longer, you might have proven me that trusting you is one of the best decisions I’ve ever had. If only you have waited for a little bit longer, we might have turned out to be more than friends instead of being strangers.

If only you have waited for a little bit longer, we might have experienced how it feels to love and to be loved. If only you might have waited for a little bit longer, I might have given you my first sweetest “YES” that I have been reserving for years.
