LOVE IS…

This is only the first part of defining what love is.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

As someone who does not have any experience on a relationship with opposite sex, people tend to assume that I have no idea ‘bout love. Well, people you are wrong. After all this time I have been patiently waiting, because that is how the scriptures first definition of love, “love is patient”.

I remember someone I met online, just a week ago who would simply utters “I love you”, and every time he did it I would sarcastically tell him how simple it is for him to say those words, ‘coz for me this phrase is something I would not tell to anyone if I don’t really mean it or even if how much I wanted to tell it to someone I choose not to, because it is something so sacred for me, you just can’t simply say it without sincerity. After knowing each other for a week (thru chats) he then bids goodbye (at least, I wasn’t ghosted) because I cannot reciprocate the feeling he had for me (according to him), thus, it leads me to a conclusion that he was never sincere at all, like hello we just knew each other for A WEEK, and if he is really true to his words, he would be patiently waiting. I was sorry for him, I hope he would realize that there is a beauty on waiting, not only waiting but waiting patiently.

“Don’t tell me you love me, show me patience.”
