To the man who made me love me

To the man who made me love me,

It hasn’t been too long since I’ve chosen myself over you. The day I decided to walk away for my sake, the day I decided I loved myself more than I loved you. I’ve never felt this way. Though you have broken my heart and didn’t care, I thank you. Thank you for making me realize that the sun still shines without you, and it sets just the same too.  I stare at the same ceiling when I wake up, I listen to the same music, and there will always be new series to watch, the world didn’t fall apart. My world didn’t fall apart.

You weren’t the glue that held me together, I was capable of being emotionally stable and mentally strong all by myself, I didn’t need you. I didn’t need you to love me, I didn’t need you to do something I could do for myself. I started looking better, started smiling a lot sweeter, finally realizing my worth and how much I deserve, I started loving myself a little deeper.

I’m amazing. More importantly, I am loved by my Jesus who sees me through my darkest times, and cheered for me at my happiest. Thank you, you have made me happy and you have made me feel special, but those days are over now. You are not the only man in the world. While I’m busy loving myself, I’ll wholeheartedly accept the man who deserves me at the right place and at the right time. When that day comes, I will no longer be crazy in love, but peacefully, happily, and rightly in love.
