When Life Gets Painful

When Life Gets Painful 💔

(Taking a look of these Bible verses)

The Vine and the Branches
Read: John 15: 1-2; 5-7

There are three questions that we will answer.

I want you to look at the trees around you.

>The main tree symbolizes the Lord Jesus Christ
>The branches symbolize you and me who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

1. Why does a branch need to be pruned?
According to google, pruning means trim (a tree, shrub, or bush) by cutting away dead or overgrown branches or stems, especially to increase fruitfulness and growth.

According to Christine DiMaria, Angie’s List contributor, There are
6 reasons why a tree should be pruned:
*To beautify the yard
*To help the tree grow
*To encourage fruit production
*To remove hazardous branches
*To treat disease
*To improve a vista
>A branch needs to be pruned for it to be a better version of itself, to remove what is not good in it, to enhance and show its beauty, to help it grow and flourish, and to help it becoming fruitful.

2. If a branch is being pruned, is it not painful to the part of the branch? It’s painful. But that pain has its purpose and it is still for its own good

>Katulad din siya ng buhay natin. In this life, we will experience so much pain. Baka meron tayong hindi magagandang pag-uugali, o baka may mga nagawa tayong hindi magaganda kaya tayo dinidisiplina, o baka inihahahanda tayo para sa susunod na baitang ng ating buhay.

That pain has its purpose and that will be just for our own good.

But it depends on us on how are we going to view it. Are we going to view it as a motivation and inspiration that after all these things, there will be something good compensated upon us. (Na pagkatapos ng lahat ng unos, pagsubok, pasakit at paghihirap may katumbas na ligaya)
Or are we going to view it as a great burden that will create a crack in us, that we will draw ourselves away from God, and that we will quit or surrender in this life instead of surrendering our lives unto our God? (Na lalayo tayo sa Panginoon at susuko na tayo sa buhay imbis na isusuko natin ang ating sarili sa Panginoon.)

Remember what Jesus said in John 15:5-6 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.”

3. If the branch is in pain, does the main tree not feel the pain? The main tree also feels the pain and that main tree is the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ feels and understands our pain, your pain. He is God, yet He humbled Himself and came to this earth as a man. He even experienced greater pain than what we had experienced yet He endured everything because He loves us, He loves you and He wants to save you holistically.

What He wants us to do is to remain in Him and we will not miss what He is going to do in the midst of all those trials and sufferings that we are facing.

And if we remain in Him, He said in John 15:7 “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”

God answers in 3 ways:

*Yes-If at that moment, you are ready, and it is good for you.

*No-If it is not good for you, and if He has something better prepared for you.

*Wait-If He is preparing both of you and that something that you are praying.

The Lord may bless His word. To God be the glory.
