An Open Letter to the Man I will Marry

To You,

You know that I have been waiting for you. Days and months, then it turns to years, but I am still hopeful that someday, the Lord will cause our paths to cross. I don’t know who you are. Maybe we have met or even chatted together. I don’t know whether we already knew each other or we will just meet probably this time next year, or two more years. I just know that when we are ready, the Lord will orchestrate everything for us.

Whoever you are, I want you to know that I have been praying for you. I know that in God’s right time, we will meet each other. In the meantime, I would like us to grow well in the Lord. I pray that the Lord will guard our hearts and secure them in His mighty hands. I pray that the Lord will keep us pure in His sight. There might be so much temptations around us, but the Lord is faithful to keep us. And when the time comes, we will be glad and be thankful to the Lord for bringing us together. Then, our black and white worlds will turn into colors.

On my part, I pray that the Lord will prepare my heart to the man that you have become by His grace.

On my part, I pray that the Lord will prepare my heart to the man that you have become by His grace.  I know I cannot dream of a perfect husband – that would be impossible. But I know, I could be proud of you because you love Him with all your heart, mind, and soul. By this thought, I am confident and secured that you will be a great husband by His mercy. I know, by loving the Lord first before me, you would be able to love me purely and unconditionally.

I can’t wait to see you. I hope that you are doing well in the Lord. I hope that you are waiting for me, too.

Your future wife.

Ann

PS: Before knowing the right one, how can we know God personally?
