TURNING AWAY, YET STILL HOPEFUL

Sun rays inside my room

Signifies a new day to roam

Calling me out on my bed of foam

Hoping a day with absent gloom

Today I ask God to guard my heart

I surrender to Him my thought

Hoping I finally move on from the hurt

From the memories of you that haunt

Oh yes! I know it so well, it’s not you

It’s me pushing myself to you

Hoping the time will come I’ll ask myself “who are you?”

And totally forgets about you.

After all I am grateful

It maybe hurtful

But the pain made me even faithful

This is me turning away, yet still hopeful.
