Write Your Own Story

You may have a lot of flaws and weaknesses, but that doesn’t authorize you to stay less of a person, having low expectations in life, waiting for the world to accept you as how you used to.

It is good to know and acknowledge your weaknesses, we all have our imperfections but how you respond to it that really matters. Will you do something? Or not at all? Though its normal to feel weak, you can’t use it as an excuse to just stay and live in an average level of life. Its a choice; either you help yourself develop and overcome your weakness or just live with it and limit yourself from becoming the best version of yourself. While it is easier to choose the latter, it wont be worth it. Believe me, I’ve done that so many times and it only lead me to a self-pity life, while watching others getting promoted in their careers, having their own car, travel around the world, wrote their own book.

I’m a fan of those people who started from being nobody and eventually became somebody —those who contributes a lot to this world and made a great impact in the lives of many. Their stories inspires me. I even shared it to others to inspire them too. But at the end of the day, I ask myself, “Is that what you want? Will you stay a fan forever? Wouldn’t you want to have your own story to tell and share it to inspire others?” As much as i want to, I have a lot of issues at hand; I’m not as smart as them or I’m not good at this or I don’t have the guts to do that —I’m just too weak to make it. It took time for me to realize that I really can’t be like them, because I have to do things my own way, live my own life, write my own story and inspire others. It will not be easy. It will be a long process. It will require you to:

Get out of your comfort zone. Do things you’ve never done before. This is hard. I struggled with this, but you have to realize that you’re not there yet. You can still be the best and have the best.

Be willing to take risk. Take risk as if you have nothing to lose. The truth is, in reality we don’t really own anything, we are just a steward of what really belongs to God. Unless you realize that you won’t be able to get through this step.

Enjoy the process. You will learn more things about yourself —your strength and weaknesses. While it is more easier to accept your strengths, you may feel disappointed with your weaknesses. Don’t be. Your weakness doesn’t define you as a person, that’s just one part of what makes you who you are. Don’t pressure yourself. Again, its a process, so don’t rush things. Give yourself time, accept yourself, forgive yourself, trust yourself and love yourself. Enjoy every phase of it and keep moving forward. You’ll surely get there in time.

Focus on what you want to achieve. Don’t let any circumstances distract you. Yes, Anything can happen —even the worst things you can possibly imagine, but take heart. It will surely last. Keep in mind that there is Someone up there who controls everything in His hand–God. He loves you so much not to get you through any situation.

I tell you, its not easy. I failed most of the time and it hurts, but its worth it. What matters most is we will continue to get up, learn through that and by being the best version of ourselves, achieve the great future that lies ahead.
