Looking Forward

I’m not used to writing poems
I don’t know why I do now
Words are flowing like a river
And I need to let it out

I’m not used to writing songs
I know you can teach me how
To express what I want to say
You’re a treasure that I’ve found

Looking forward to that day
The day I can hold your hand
Go to places where you want to
Making memories hand in hand

There is something in your smile
I can’t explain the joy I feel
I’m excited to see that in person
Not in picture but for real

Looking forward to that day
The fulfillment of God’s plan
To see you singing for God’s glory
I’m one of your biggest fan

In front of hundreds and thousands of people
The lost, the broken and the hurt
Sharing the good news of Jesus Christ
Making songs that ministers

But for now I’ll wait for you
Because Abba has told me so
And I want you to love Him more
Be secured, complete and grow

All I can do for now is look forward
To that moment God will say
“Son, she’s ready,
Now’s the time”
I’m looking forward to that day

“But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have,
we must wait patiently and confidently.”
– Romans 8:25, NLT
