It’s Not About Us

It started with the music, fun, and friendship,
Short walks, long songs, no pretensions,
Small groups, real talks, true intentions,
Days passed by unnoticed.

Ordinary things that turned out to be special,
Walking home at night, greetings with a hug,
Sharing umbrella underneath the pouring rain,
Family and friends surround us.

Who would have thought
We too have brought you…

Smiles, laughter, blessings, and joy,
Hope, peace, and love,
These are just some of the few
That the Lord God brought us through,
This looks like us, but it’s not about us.

She likes fast days, he likes slow pace,
She loves the sunrise, he loves the sunset,
She knows what she likes,
And he thinks it’s all okay,
These are the things that bind us.

Who would have thought
We too have brought you…

Smiles, laughter, blessings, and joy,
Hope, peace, and love,
These are just some of the few
That the Lord God brought us through,
This looks like us, but it’s not about us.

On our own we can’t make it, we can only do as much,
But in Him, all is complete,
We may not be perfect, we’ll all make mistakes,
But His grace will bind us forever.

Smiles, laughter, blessings, and joy,
Hope, peace, and love,
These are just some of the few
That the Lord God brought us through,
This looks like us, but it’s not about us.
This looks like us, but it’s all about…
This looks like us, but it’s all about…
This looks like us, but it’s all about HIM.
