Stalemate

I cannot tell her about it,                      all I can do is to look into her eyes

A voice is shouting from within me, but letting her know is unwise

I can show her a friendly smile,           as if everything is going fine

But behind that smile is a regret,            I should not dare to cross the line

It’s a thing of beauty to watch,          that smiling eyes that left me wanting

But I can only do so much,                    so much that’s basically nothing

Maybe it’s just really my fate,           that go against my freewill

That’s why I ended up in a stalemate,  as if space and time stand still
