I know you are contented to like her from a distance. You are happy to glance into her eyes for a second. Words miserably fail when she’s around. It’s hard to tuck your courage up and take chances.
Perhaps because she’s out of your league, it’s improbable to take space in her world and her heart. It seems that she deserves better more than what you can offer. It’s hard to take steps and move closer to her even though you are so capable of doing it.
Perhaps you’re anxious about the probabilities and you’re not hopeful about the possibilities. Perhaps, it’s only your mind that hinders you from trying and taking the first step.
I hope you will have the courage to raise from the norm that good guys are often called the “torpe guys”- that you are inherently nice and you could always afford to move back and let go of your loved ones, you could afford to keep your feelings sealed just to protect other people’s feelings and opinions, and you could afford not to take the lead and give it to others while absorbing all the pain and sorrow.
If you truly like and love the person, pursue her. Pursue her, because you don’t want to look back in days, months, years, or a decade, wondering what would have been. Pursue her, because you don’t want to reminisce about all the possible good memories you can experience being with her nor the pain of risking and letting go.
Pursue her- because you can.
I don’t want to give you false hopes and assurance that everything will be okay. No, it doesn’t. But I hope you have the courage to liberate yourself, that you can do things differently, that even though there’s no assurance, you’ll be true to yourself.
I hope you can move closer to the person that ignites and aspires you to become a better person, you can gaze at her beauty and flaws, and you can finally utter what you’ve kept and prayed for a long time.
And if she says “NO” you still win because you liberate yourself from your self-doubt and finally you’re pursuing growth.
