WAITING IS NEVER BORING!

You might be one of those who’ve just been in a hurting relationship; or just recently you realized you are with a wrong person, and are waiting for the right person to come and save you. You might be one of those who came from break up years ago and decided to wait but still no one has come yet. Or you’re one like me who never experienced being in an official relationship, and is patiently waiting (or waiting trying to be patient haha). And though there are so many times you are tempted to doubt, still you want to believe: “The right person comes at the right time. God is preparing my future wife/husband (same as how He prepares me)  and he is worth all the waiting.”

In whatever way you can relate to, if you are on wait, this blog is for you.

I believe waiting season is not a useless nor wasted season. It is a great season and should never be boring. I am gonna share with you some points to consider and I pray that these will be of great help to you.

Waiting is never boring with:
1. Good Friends. I really appreciate having friends in this season of waiting. We all have friends. I have many friends and I thank God for each one of them. But when I say good friends, these are the “good-to-be-with during your waiting season” friends. They are the ones who are ready to rebuke you with truth instead of comforting you with lies. They won’t let you end with a decision for your temporary happiness. Definitely not because they don’t want you to be happy but because they believe you deserve the real and lasting joy. Good friends know you can not have real things by settling for less but by waiting for the best the Lord has for you. You can do the waiting alone. In fact, you might have done it for years already. But this time, try praying for good friends you can spend your time with, having good talks, sharing your dreams and plans in life whom you can have helpful critics. You can do it alone, but you can do it better with good friends.

As Ecclesiastes 4:9 says, “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed.”

“You can do it alone, but you can do it better with good friends.”

If you have such good lovely friends around you, may it be your siblings, your life group leader, your church mates, your childhood friends or your newly-met godly friend, appreciate them ALWAYS.
As you pray for good friends to come, be that good friend that you wanna have.

2. Family Time. My parents are abroad since my last year in high school. It was kinda hard to adjust even up to this day (3 years after I finished college). There is always a temptation to feel that lack of affection and care. And even if you are living with your whole family, there’s a probability that you feel the same esp. if you are not used to expressing love towards one another. But in my case, I noticed that the more I spend time talking with them even just through video calls or chat messages, it makes a lot of difference. I was also blessed to have really loving parents that they exert effort to be able to communicate with us(me and my siblings) and let us feel that we are sought-after most of the time. Talking and spending time with them, is also reminding myself the discipline and principles taught to us during childhood. Also, seeing both the good and bad sides, I’ve got to learn and be inspired to dream for a beautiful family  in the future. It feels good to go relax and travel but still, there is no place like home. Home is where you can experience real love. If you disagree with these because of sad experiences in your family, the more you need to spend time with them. Be the home your family wants to always go.

3. Faith Goals. Your goals in life helps you have a sense of direction. The good future partner in life surely prays for someone who does not only care for a romantic dates or impressive looks but someone who knows how to dream big and works hard to achieve it. If you want your future husband to do such, more probably than not, he also wants you to do the same.
My faith goals are my plans and God-given dreams which I believe I can achieve by faith. I can not do it on my own, I have to believe and obey God in everything He wants me to do to be able achieve them. I will be the one who will do it, but the strength comes from the Lord. This makes sense in waiting. We usually wait – wherein we literally stop until something come.

” Great things await for those who faithfully wait.”

The famous bible verse says in Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”  The resources were made available for us, we just have to do the work! Don’t just wait and see. Wait and work! Work while on-wait! Waiting is a great season of preparation. The right person will come at the right time. Take every opportunity to prepare. Make yourself busy setting and reaching your God-given goals. If it will come, it will come. But for sure you don’t want to be found unprepared. Therefore, make this season a productive one by doing the necessary preparation. Done are the days of searching for chat mates and spending too much time flaunting and scrolling in your social media accounts. Educate yourself and focus on learning and improving your skills, even your attitude. Great things await for those who faithfully wait. Let’s make waiting great.

4. Heart that Wait on God. More than the answered prayers, more than the right person and the right time, wait on God. You can hardly do great on waiting when you wait on the wrong things. We usually focus on the things we wanna have. This time, why don’t you set your gaze upon the One who had given all you have and the One who is able to give you what you wanna have.
My prayers are only according to what my mind can fathom. My standards for the man I wanna marry is only based on what I think is best for me, whom my family and friends will approve, someone who can compliment with who I am. But that there is someone who really knows me more than my family and friends or even myself do. And it is my Creator.

8 “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord.
“And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.
9 For just as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so my ways are higher than your ways
and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
-Isaiah 55:8-9 NLT

Absolutely, my Creator knows far better than I do. Whatever I expect and pray for is far beyond what He is able to give me. Therefore, I wait on Him. I wait on His will, His timing, his Word, His instruction; I wait on Him. With that on my mind and my heart, I have peace knowing that my Creator, my Lord never failed me yet. When you hope on people and things of this world, you put your heart at risk of unnecessary pains and heartache. Therefore, let’s hope and wait on God because as said in His Words,

31 But those who wait upon God get fresh strength.
They spread their wings and soar like eagles,
They run and don’t get tired,
they walk and don’t lag behind.
-Isaiah 40:31 MSG

Waiting on God is same with trusting Him with your future and believing that He has the best in store for You. And we all know that it’s hard to trust someone we do not know. I pray that as you end reading this post, you also desire to get to know the Lord deeper and journey with Him daily. Here’s a quick tip with a heart: Read the Bible daily(at least a chapter a day), Pray(communicate with the Lord always) and commit to a church. I personally feel never alone with my walk with God because of the family of Christ I belong to, my church.
It’s not about how long you have to wait, neither who or what kind of future partner you have to wait for. It is more about Who you wait with and what you focus and do while on wait. These are just some of many good things to consider. But surely, having good friends with you, spending enough time with your family, working on God-given goals, and having a heart waiting on God; Waiting is Never Boring! 😊
