Life is full of uncertainties, especially now that we don’t know when this pandemic will end.
I’m experiencing anxiety and doubt, I don’t know what the future holds. I’m not sure what road to take. I’m lost and overwhelmed by the expectations of many. The pressure is everywhere and expecting me to have a great career, be successful, have a great life since l graduated from a prestigious university. Family, friends and relatives look up to me, thinking I’m great and smart. What if I fail and not reach those expectations?
The Lord is gracious, He snapped me back to what really matters. He asked me “what’s your ultimate goal in life?”. There, I realized that I’m here on earth not be successful in world’s standard but to be successful in God’s standard. He reminded me that my ultimate goal here is to worship Him and give Him honor, to share His love towards others, to touch lives and be a blessing. I don’t have to be rich, famous, powerful or the smartest, all I have to be is to be His faithful servant. To do tasks He wants me to do wherever He takes me. If He wants me to go back to school and take my masters, so be it. I know He prepared something there. If not, I should be excited because there are great things to come.
Remember, you’re not here to please people but to please God.
If you feel uncertain, remind yourself with His promises:
Jeremiah 29:11
Proverbs 3:5-6
Matthew 6:33
Romans 8:28
Proverbs 16:9
May you feel peace in this time of uncertainties. The Lord is in control and He holds our future. Fear not for He is always there ahead of us.
