As I look out the plane window
A city with a thousand lights
Bids its goodbye to me;
The vast ocean underneath
Pitch black in the night
Greets me with all its unknown.
As I stare blankly onto the big chunk of land
Thousands of meters under this big, red-white bird
It dawned upon me the bittersweet truth;
These are all what I am leaving behind
My home, my family and dearest friends
The part of me I can never bring along on this journey.
I packed my life in a suitcase and camera
Double-checking whether everything indeed belongs to me
Here I go, carrying a love unconditional
But then, oh dear, also love misunderstood
Leaving aside love too sweet and yet too early
Never sure, oh darling, if it’s ever coming back again.
