I just felt sharing this to encourage all the single men (also single women) in the hood.
Disclaimer : I encourage everyone to read Genesis 2:18-23 prior to reading this. 🙂
Looking at the picture, God placed Adam to work and keep all of the creation, for he is called to have dominion, to be a good steward and keeper of everything God created. God saw that it was not good for Adam to be alone. God made him a suitable partner fit for him, as a special providence and special grace, sa katauhan ni Eve. With this, Adam said, “This at last is bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, for she was taken out of Man”.
Points:
1.) God knows what you and I need, even before we utter a word.
  • We felt like having someone to love is what we need. Na we need to be in a relationship for us to be happy. But trust God’s word. He knows what you need, Just like His statement “it is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper fit for him”, which leads me to my second point.
2.) God made someone “out of your rib” (for women, you are made by God out of someone’s rib).
  • Bakit nga ba kay Adam pa kinuha si Eve? Pwede din naman sana i-form na lang din ni God si Eve out of dust, diba? Reason is it would mean even more for us, and it will be more beautiful for us, na para syang likeness din ng man and it is tailor-fitted for your needs. “At last, the bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh”, ika nga ni Adam.
  • Eh bakit sa ribs? bakit di sa ulo? because the one God made fit for man is meant to be helping us and to walk side by side with us, not to go before us, not to usurp authority of man. Since it is tailor-fitted, she will have to complement you.
  • (side comment) Eve was made for Adam (1 Cor. 11:9), not “a number of Eves were made for Adam, if you’re getting what I mean. 😃
3.) God presented Eve to Adam.
  • In all creation, God didn’t find any helper suitable for him. After Adam’s slumber, God presented (or revealed) Eve to him. It is not Adam who asked for a helper. God saw that he needs a helper, so He made Eve.
  • In His own will, in His own time, God will reveal to you someone who will be your helper, companion, perfect match, bestfriend, lover, your favorite annoyance, babaeng hinugot sa iyong tadyang, whatever you wanna name her! 🙂
In Summary:
Adam remained faithful (well, at least in this part of the story of creation) to what God called him to do, and in the process, God saw na hindi okay na mag-isa sya. It is never His heart for us to be alone, so He made Eve for Adam.
It is never bad to pray for someone. It is actually good! But before anything else, seek God first, and everything else will follow (Matthew 6:33). Be faithful on the work and in the ministry God has called you into and in everything you do, because we can hold on to this confidence that God knows what we need and He will provide it for us according to His will and according to His time.
Men, somewhere, someone was made out of your rib. Women, you are made out of someone’s rib. While we remain faithful to God’s call in our life, while we are seeking God, I believe God, in His time, will reveal to you your companion and helper for life in the least expected moment, just like how God revealed Eve to Adam.
Again, God knows what we truly need. In that particular time when God figuratively “took out a rib”, and “formed that rib to someone” compatible to you, He is thinking about you, because He loves you and He wants nothing but the best for you. 🙂
Isaiah 60:22 says, “when the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen.”
Wait on God, mga ka-cactus 🙂 He knows what is best for you!
He loves you so much!
