When it comes to traveling, people usually pick the best tourist spots, the finest beaches, the most famous landmarks, and what not. I don’t want to be hypocritical, I do that too. Kung ano yung maganda, kung ano yung uso, kung ano yung sikat, dun ko gustong pumunta. What they don’t realize is that the things that make your trips and adventures worth it is not the destination itself but the company you’re going there with.

Initially, my friends and I have been planning to go to Baguio because of its popularity nowadays. Posts about it on different social media platforms come one after the other. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, movies, music videos, you name it, puro Baguio ang laman. So when I had a girlfriend just recently, isa rin ang Baguio sa mga goal naming puntahan.

I wasn’t planning on going to Baguio so soon but she surprised me with bus tickets and booked accommodations one weekend. I was so excited para sa Baguio trip namin. Naghanda na ako ng mga gamit agad. I was expecting so much kasi sobrang nahype ako. When we got to Baguio, I was so happy. Di nawala yung excitement ko hanggang makarating na kami sa hotel and maramdaman ko yung pagod and antok.

While you are busy reading this article, try mo rin makinig sa episode namin:

We explored Baguio the next day. We went to the top tourist spots. We admired The Mansion from afar, went to the edge of the cliffs of Mines View Park, went boating in Burnham Park, took photos and ate strawberry and ube taho in Botanical Garden, road the ferris wheel and won a stuffed toy in Sky Ranch, walked the romantic streets of Session Road and many more. I had a whole lot of fun and I experienced a lot of firsts. It was exhausting but it was worth it. I was overwhelmed. But after going through all those adventures, what I realized is that the things I did in Baguio, I can do in other places as well. There are huge beautiful houses in the metro, there are ferris wheels in other places, and we can ride boats in other places which means Baguio was not special. It became special for me because of who I was with, my girlfriend. I tried to think of doing the same things and going to the same places without her. I don’t think it’ll be the same. So really, when you’re planning your next trip, don’t think about where you’re going, think about who you’re going there with.
