Saving Grace

Do you belive in the Cross of Christ?

That question hits me hard. Yep, it made me re-visit about the power and the importance of the cross; repentance.

As I woke up early today, I asked God for His direction. “Father, what do you want me to do today?” I’ve been searching for an answer for such a time. Until I’ve read this post about sharing the gospel. The writer said that “We’re not just called to preach on grace; we’re also called to preach on the necessity of repentance…” Indeed. It moved me.

That kind of question and motivation keeps me fascinated. Infact, our DG leader challenged us last week about soul winning. I’m getting the point this time.

As I spent my whole entire day searching for an answer about what did God wants me to do, not just today but for the rest of my life, I went to church and was challenged by the same question I had after watching a movie entitled “Do You Believe” (Try to watch it if you want.)

The movie talks about the power of the Cross and how amazing our God is. He can transform lives.

It is written that we all have sinned.

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”

  • Romans 3:23

No one could ever reach God’s standard. We are all sinners. We are all lost souls who are searching for the same cross.

Personally, I commit sins everyday. No one is perfect and I am not perfect. I know it’s hard, but what drives me to avoid committing any sin as much as I can is the fact that it is written in Romans 6:23

“For the wages of sin is death;”

Not the literal death. But going to the lakes of fire and damnation.

But there is a good news. The verse was not yet ended there. It is not yet over. God made a way

“but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

That’s it. Romans 6:23 ended there. No one could ever reach God’s standard for we all have sinned. The wages of sin is death but God made a way out from the gates of hell. He made a way out through the cross. Trough Jesus.

He gave us a free gift; Gift of Salvation through Jesus’ blood. Come to think of it, what kind of person who are willing to sacrifice himself for us to be saved? No one. But Jesus did, because of love. He loves us unconditionally that we are all saved by God’s grace. He has a soft spot for a sinner like me. And it cost the blood of Jesus for us to be saved. Our debt was paid by the blood.

The thing is, God gave us the choice if we will accept that gift. He’s always been there waiting for us and we have to choose to take the first step to change our life.

I know that I am a sinner. I was supposed to die. Supposed to go to hell. But I thank God for saving me. He saved me from being devastated. And as I wholeheartedly accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and saviour, He transformed me. He made me new. His love for me endures the cross and shed His blood for the redemption if my sin.

I once was lost, but now I am found
Was blind but now I see.

I hope you feel the same way too.
