#HelloLoveGoodbye

#HelloLoveGoodbye more than a ‘RomCom’ is a movie about Filipinos working abroad and about SELF LOVE.

First of all, the movie is good reminder to everyone that working abroad is NOT as easy as they think it is.

HAHAHA (Disclaimer: not from my experience tho but yes I have online business too so alam ko yung feeling.)

But to highlight my point here, mapa-pinas o ibang bansa, wala namang trabahong madali kaya dapat wag umasa at umasta na kapag nasa abroad na e mayaman na.

Secondly, the movie says a lot about choosing yourself FIRST. Hindi pwedeng bigay lang ng bigay, sacrifice lang ng sacrifice tapos ikaw naman yung nauubos. If saying NO to others means saying YES to yourself, then you win! Follow your dreams kahit ano pa ang sabihin ng iba o opinion ng iba, deadma is the key! Kahit mawalan ka pa ng love life HAHAHA. Chaaar! Pero seryoso, sabi nga for you to be selfless, you have to be selfish first.  Gayahin mo si joy!  Remember that taking care of yourself first is a gift for others.

Lastly, the movie portrays that it is never TOO late to become someone you always wanted to be. Kahit pa sandamakmak na failure na ang naranasan o nararanasan mo, it is NEVER LATE. Like Ethan, your mistake – your responsibility, not your excuse.

I had a friend na nagmessage sakin, na-aawa daw sya sa nanay ni Joy dun sa movie. Yes nakaka-awa sya, kasi she sacrificed a lot for her family but in the end choice na rin nya mag-stay sa situation nya. Like her, may mga times na situations brought us sa ‘no choice’ position and drag us down afterwards but that’s not the end of our story, we have the rest of our lives to turn our way back to the right path. It is not easy, I know. Growth is painful. Change is painful. But nothing is as painful as staying stuck in a place where you don’t feel like you belong, “Stand up, pick up your mat and walk again” (Mark 2:9).

Laban lang bes!

I do hope aside from waiting sa part 2 (if meron man) this movie helps us na mag-reflect sa mga buhay natin. Remember that at the end of the day, A fresh new start isn’t a new place, it’s a new mindset.
