You found me. You found me when I was going through the worst times of my life. You found me during those nights when pain overwhelmed me that I was already questioning my own worth. You knew how brutally broken I was because I’ve lost the fire in my eyes. And I thought all of these things would make you leave, but you didn’t stop touching these scars all over my body. You said they were so beautiful. You told me I was still your favorite work of art. You assured me that it’d be an honor for you to dive deep into my soul. To learn every detail about my past so you’d know how to treat me right. To make me feel so good about myself until I forget the people who’ve made me suffer. To let me be honest with you as you memorize every part that makes me who I really am. I was scattered in pieces but you didn’t mind picking me up when you saw me crying on the bedroom floor. You taught me how to find and save myself as you proved your true intentions. I always thought there was something wrong with me, that I was too difficult to love — until you made it so easy.
