“Sobrang tagal. May ibibilis pa ba?”

“Kaylan ko ba makakamit ang matamis mong oo?”

While you are busy reading this article, try mo rin makinig sa episode namin:

“Okay na to! Yaan mo na. Sobrang tagal eh.”

Ikaw din ba yan? Ang hirap maghintay diba? 100% true. Oops. Aray naman, Mare. Nagsalita ha? Oo, kaya nga I’m writing this.

Instead, of reasoning out of being impatient, why not let’s talk about the hidden truth about waiting? Ready ka na ba? Kasi kung hindi pa, nako, you’re going to miss it! It’s like watching your favourite action movie in a theatre and when on its climax, suddenly, naiihi ka na. Hindi mo na mapigilan. Sasabog na pantog mo! Hahaha. Kaya in the end, napapikit ka nalang at na-at ease kasi nasaksihan mo, sinaksak ni Bungo si Cardo! Hahaha. At nung natapos na ung movie, pag tayo mo, suddenly na-realized mo na basang basa na pala yung pantalon mo! Hahahahaha.

Masayang maghintay, kapatid. Maganda palang maghintay. The best is yet to come. Ika nga. Parang cooking a dish lang yan. Then, ta-dah! Ready na ang sinigang! Sarap ng sabaw! Lalo na sa ganitong panahon! Healthy pa diba?

In the Bible, there were so many stories about waiting. And just like us, it came to a point that the characters became impatient, meron din naming nagsumikap. Out of these, I will mention the life of Jacob, the son of Isaac and Rebekah. Sa mga manliligaw, para sa inyo to! Haha joke. In Genesis 29, when he started courting Rachel, years were like days, months were like minutes. Imagine, 7 years siyang nanligaw kay Rachel? Lodi. Ikaw ba? Months, years palang suko ka na? Haha. So, sa loob ng 7 years, he worked hard, and worked hard sa family ni ate girl to prove his love for her. And when the day comes, eto na yon, eto na mapapasakanya na si Rachel! Pero akala lang pala niya. That night, after the feast, sa sobrang pagod niya siguro or drunk (kasi ganon custom nila), he didn’t realize na ang katabi niya palang matulog ay ung kapatid pala ni Rachel na hindi kagandahan. As he woke up, he was so angry to his uncle, in other words, sa tatay ni ate girl, because he was deceived. If you’ll just read backwards, Jacob was also a deceiver. He deceived his own father Isaac by pretending to be the older one, Esau. Why? Because he wants to get the blessings.  In short, he reap what he sow. Minsan, akala natin, naghintay tayo ng matagal without even knowing na tama ba yung ginawa natin all this time? Did we do the right thing while waiting? In the end, he served another 7 years, working hard for the woman of his life. All in all, 14 years ang ligawan! Grabe! And this time, napasakanya si Rachel. Cheers, Jacob!

Father Abraham and his wife, Sarah thought they waited too much that’s why, they disobeyed. He slept with his wife’s servant, kasi hindi pa rin magkaanak si Sarah samantalang God already promised. The Israelites, travelled in the Promised Land for 40 years instead of few days/2 weeks lang, bakit? Because, they thought they waited too much. In short, nainip sila and not only that, wala silang ginawa kungdi magreklamo all throughout.

In the end, my point is sometimes, we think we waited too much. Akala natin enough na naghintay tayo nang matagal without even realizing that, if we just enjoy the season of waiting. If we just see the beauty of waiting. If we just know the purpose of waiting, makakamit din natin ung mga bagay na hinihintay natin. Mga bagay na hindi pinilit. Mga bagay na nakuha natin out of obedience and all.

The reason why God let us wait is for our faith to be deep, grow and trust more sa wonderful plans Niya sa atin. In fact, ang thousand years sa tao ay 1 day lang kay Lord? Read 2 Peter 3:8. Amazing! Also, God is not a liar. Tandaan mo yan. He’s not like us. He promises and fulfils (Numbers 23:19).

So ano pa yung mga hinihintay mong panalangin? Makapagtapos ng pag-aaral? Makaahon sa kahirapan? Sagutin ka na ng nililigawan mo? Magka-anak at magkaroon ng pamilya? Here’s the promises of God.

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. (Ephesians 3:20)

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)

Gawin lang natin? WAIT with a grateful heart.

W-ork hard.

A-bide in His Words.

I-mpatient no more.

T-rust wholeheartedly.

Send me the best BW Tampal!
