The Last Letter

Please don’t misunderstand. It’s just that, my past still seems to be in the present progressive form. Hey!
I know – just because I’m here expressing my feelings through words doesn’t mean I’m not yet over you nor does it mean I’m still stuck on you.
I know. Don’t worry. I know.
I’ve learned to deal with the situation. And finally, I’ve understood it all.
I know we can’t be like the way we used to be before – not even friends nor strangers, but completely invisible to each other. I know…I know.
We never had any label. It was an almost relationship. Almost.
I know, that no matter what we do, it will never work out. Why? We both know that we love ourselves much more than each other.
I know it won’t be easy for you to believe me when I say that I’m genuinely really happy for you. But believe me, I truly am.
I’m happy that you’re happily in love.
I’m happy that you’ve chosen the person who will put a real smile on your face. I’m happy that you followed your heart no matter how much it takes. And I’m happy that you chose to be yourself.
I’m glad that you made it through together. I have seen how it broke you, but despite all the struggles and even when things got messed up, you still managed to find your way back to each other. I’ve seen it, and I know it’s time for me to let go and found no more reason to hold on. I can’t hope when I know it is hopeless for me to grow.
I maybe sad for myself but it doesn’t mean that I have to be sad for you.
I may not be the person you ended up with, but honestly, thank you!
I’m sure that I’m gonna find the right person whom I somehow wished was you.
Thank you and I am truly sorry for everything.
Up to this end, I hope I showed you how much you mean to me… now and forever.
I’m now letting go of my unrequited love, and my almost lover…
